Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study Social Work and eventually to obtain a full-time job in the field. As a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Raleigh area, I am committed to the well-being of all my patients and go above and beyond to cater to their needs. I truly care for all of my clients and I work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Since 2009, I have worked with a variety of patients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives. My team has experience in working with adolescents, teens, young adults and has specialized training in grief counseling, Christian-based counseling, postpartum mental health disorders, anxiety, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR.

What to Expect during your first session?Introductions: Your therapist will likely start by introducing themselves and explaining their approach to therapy. They may also ask you to introduce yourself and provide some background information. Discussion of Goals: Your therapist will want to understand what you hope to achieve through therapy. They may ask about your current challenges, symptoms, and what you want to change or improve in your life. Establishing Rapport: Building a trusting relationship with your therapist is crucial. They'll likely try to make you feel comfortable and encourage you to express yourself openly. Exploration: Your therapist may ask questions to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This could involve discussing your past, relationships, coping mechanisms, and any patterns or themes that emerge. Setting Expectations: Your therapist may explain what you can expect from future sessions, such as the frequency of meetings, the therapeutic approach they'll use, and how progress will be assessed. Educational Component: Depending on the type of therapy you're engaging in, your therapist may provide you with information about mental health, coping strategies, or techniques to try between sessions. Ending the Session: Towards the end of the session, your therapist may summarize what was discussed and ask for feedback on your experience. They might also schedule your next appointment if you decide to continue therapy. Remember, therapy is a collaborative process, so don't hesitate to ask questions or share any concerns you have. Your therapist is there to support you on your journey towards greater well-being.

How is Billing Completed?Insurance Billing: We accept health insurance and will bill your insurance company directly for the services provided. You may be responsible for paying a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible depending on your insurance plan. Our billing Dept will verify your insurance coverage before your first session and discuss any financial responsibilities with you. This information will be provided via email in a letter explaining your benefits. If you have any questions you can contact our billing department at 1-800-779-1303. Out-of-Pocket Payment: If you don't have insurance coverage or prefer not to use it, you can pay for therapy sessions out of pocket. The self pay rate is $175 for an individual session/ assessment and $200 for couples counseling/ family therapy. Sliding Scale Fees: Some therapists offer sliding scale fees based on your income level, making therapy more affordable for those with limited financial resources. Payment Plans: In some cases, therapists may offer payment plans or flexible payment options to help make therapy more manageable financially. This could involve breaking up the total cost of therapy into smaller payments over time. Credit Card or Online Payments: We accept payment via credit card, debit card, or health spending accounts for convenience. You may provide payment information securely in person or through a secure online portal. Cancellation Policies: We have a 48-hour policy for cancellations or rescheduling appointments. We charge a $50 fee for missed appointments or late cancellations, so it's important to be aware of these policies. If you fail to return your intake forms 48 hours prior to your appointment your appointment will be cancelled and the $50 fee will be applied. What is co-insurance? coinsurance is the percentage of the allowed amount for a covered healthcare service that you're required to pay after you've met your deductible (if your plan has one). Example: Let's say you have a health insurance plan with a 20% coinsurance rate for hospital visits. If the allowed amount for a hospital visit is $1,000, and you've already met your deductible, you would be responsible for paying 20% of the allowed amount ($1,000), which is $200. Your insurance would then pay the remaining 80%, which is $800. What is a co-payment? A co-payment is a predetermined, fixed amount that you're required to pay for a specific healthcare service or medication. This amount is outlined in your insurance plan's benefits summary or schedule of benefits. What is a deductible? A deductible is the amount of money you must pay out of pocket for covered healthcare services before your health insurance plan begins to pay. In other words, it's the initial cost you're responsible for before your insurance kicks in to cover additional expenses. Until you meet your deductible, you're responsible for paying the full cost of covered services out of pocket. Once you've met the deductible, your insurance plan starts sharing the cost of covered services according to the terms of your plan. A deductible is usually an annual amount, meaning it resets each year. You may need to meet the deductible again at the start of each new plan year.
-
How often will I meet with my therapist?Typically appointments are scheduled on a weekly basis until progress is made and then appointments are scheduled bi-weekly or monthly based on the recommendations of the therapist and the clients needs.
-
What are the next steps after I schedule my appointment?Complete paperwork: You will receive paperwork to fill out before your first session, make sure to complete it ahead of time as if it is not completed 48 hours before appointment your appt will be cancelled/ rescheduled. This will include intake forms, consent forms, and questionnaires about your medical history and reasons for seeking therapy. Review logistics: Double-check the date, time, and location of your therapy session. Make sure you know how to get to the therapist's office and plan your transportation accordingly. If you're having a virtual session, ensure that you have a stable internet connection and any necessary software or devices. Clarify insurance and payment: If you're using health insurance to cover the cost of therapy, confirm with your therapist that they accept your insurance and that they have the necessary information. If you're paying out of pocket, clarify the fee for each session and discuss any payment arrangements. Prepare mentally: Take some time to reflect on what you want to discuss during your therapy session. Think about your goals for therapy, any challenges you're facing, and what you hope to gain from the experience. You don't need to have everything figured out, but having some thoughts prepared can help guide the conversation. Bring any relevant information: If you have any documents or information that you think would be helpful for your therapist to know, such as medical records or previous therapy notes, consider bringing them to your session or sending them ahead of time. Be open-minded: Approach your therapy session with an open mind and a willingness to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your therapist is there to support you on your journey towards greater well-being. Arrive early: Aim to arrive a few minutes early for your therapy session to allow yourself time to check-in, relax, and prepare mentally. This can help you start the session feeling calm and focused. Be honest and authentic: During your therapy session, be honest and authentic in your communication with your therapist. Share your thoughts and feelings openly, even if they feel difficult or uncomfortable. Remember that therapy is a safe space where you can express yourself without judgment. By taking these steps, you can set yourself up for a productive and meaningful therapy session that helps you make progress towards your goals.
-
Will I receive a diagnosis?During your initial therapy sessions, your therapist may conduct a diagnostic assessment to better understand your symptoms, concerns, and mental health history. This assessment may involve asking questions about your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and past experiences. Based on this assessment, your therapist will provide you with a diagnosis. This is a requirement for insurance to cover your services. If you do not want to receive a diagnosis you can be seen as a self-pay client.
-
How can I contact my therapist? You can email your therapist. Your therapist’s contact information will be provided to you while scheduling your appointment. You can also reach your client through our secure client portal if you sign up for secure messaging.
